Bone-Marrow Donation Needed for Engineering Student

CU engineering student with leukemia is in need of a bone marrow transplant and has not yet found a match. To support him, the College of Engineering is hosting an on-site bone marrow registration in the Engineering Center lobby Tuesday, May 22, 1-5 pm and Thursday, May 24, 9 am- 1pm. Registration just requires completing a consent form and providing sample cells by swabbing the inside of your cheeks.

Faculty / Staff Dependent Scholarships

The Boulder Campus offers two scholarships for children of faculty and staff. One is funded by campus vending machine revenue and a donation from the Pepsi Corporation. The other is funded by an endowment created by a Boulder Faculty Assembly initiative with funding assistance from the Athletics Department. Apply for both using one simple form available at the link below. DEADLINES: apply by July 1, Dec. 1, and May 1 for each following semester.

26th Control Systems Group (CSG) Conference July 17-21, 2012

Perceptual Control Theory (PCT) expounds even higher levels of organization in control systems than previously recognized showing us a new paradigm that applies at every level of organization from cognition to action. Radical revisions to behavior theories are suggested. Our conference provides the forum for discussing the integration of these revisions into current works. Call for Diversity and Inclusion Summit Session Proposals - due 6/12/2012

The Diversity and Inclusion Planning Committee is seeking proposals for the 2012 Diversity and Inclusion Summit held at CU-Boulder on Nov. 13-15. Proposals should identify innovative and progressive action toward diversity, inclusion, and social justice at all levels of human and social interaction. Session proposals should clearly explain how they meet the conference theme and promote "Awareness, Movement, and Practice" through identifying actions and intended outcomes. Proposals due to odece@colorado.edu by June 12, 2012.

Web Accessibility: Organizational Approaches

Please join OIT staff in viewing a webinar on organizational practices for improving web accessibility. Three staff members from Utah State University's Center for Persons with Disabilities will lead the session, which will cover principles of web accessibility, practices for creating accessible web materials, and guidelines on how to do a self-study on web accessibility. The webinar will be shown May 31, 11 am-2 pm in the Telecommunications Center, Room 215.

Wanted: Research Participants

Researchers at the University of Colorado Boulder seek right-handed individuals 23-50 years old with no neurological impairment, no current or past major psychiatric disorder, and no metal implants/pacemakers for laboratory and brain imaging (fMRI) studies. Eligible participants will be paid $200 over the course of six weeks, with two fMRI scans, plus opportunities for additional compensation.
