"The Art and Aesthetics of Food" Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art

FIRST Scholar Aaron Meskin will lecture at the BMOMA on June 1. Many contemporary artists use food in their artistic practice, as can be seen in the current exhibition at BMoCA, EDIBLE? This practice brings philosophical questions "to the table". Join us for this discussion, and help answer questions like "If art is created with food, is food then art? When is food an art form in its own right?"

CU NOW Presents "Ludlow"

Get a rare glimpse behind the scenes with this opera workshop performance June 1-3 at the Atlas Black Box Theater, featuring renowned composer Lori Laitman's new opera, "Ludlow". Based on the verse novel by Colorado poet laureate David Mason about the deadly Colorado coal mining strike, this new opera gives an opportunity for live commentary from the author, and a look at Colorado's history. Single tickets are $15.

Facilities Management Annual Employee Recognition Awards

Facilities Management offers an annual award to recognize several of their exemplary staff members and one student employee. If you have noticed an FM employee who went out of his or her way to make the campus a better place to work, study, or visit, please nominate them for one of several recognition awards. Wanted: Research Participants

Researchers at the University of Colorado at Boulder seek right-handed individuals 23-50 years old with no neurological impairment, no current or past major psychiatric disorder, and no metal implants/pacemakers for laboratory and brain imaging (fMRI) studies. Eligible participants will be paid $200 over the course of 6 weeks, with 2 fMRI scans, plus opportunities for additional compensation.

Wanted: Research Volunteers

The Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience Lab is recruiting responsible and highly motivated volunteers to help with a project coding audio files over the summer. The time commitment is 10 hours per week. This position could lead to further research experience with our neuroscience lab and potential independent study credit in the fall semester. CU NOW Faculty Recital

In celebration of its third summer season, CU New Opera Works is presenting a recital on May 25 with performances by College of Music faculty Jennifer Bird-Arvidsson, Patrick Mason, and Joel Burcham. The program features pieces composed by Lori Laitman and poetry readings by Colorado Poet Laureate David Mason. This one-night event starts at 7:30 pm in the Atlas Black Box Theater, and general admission tickets are only $15.
