Subjects Needed for Passive Cycling Study $160

The Applied Exercise Science Lab is seeking sedentary male subjects aged 18-55 to study passive cycling (involves a stationary bicycle with a motor rotating the bicycle pedals for you). The experiment will consist of four separate sessions each lasting four hours. Benefits of participating include: body Composition (% body fat), fitness assessment, bone density, glucose tolerance assessment, and determination of caloric expenditure. You will be paid $160 for study completion.

Have You Signed Up to Receive Campus Alerts?

Students, faculty and staff can sign up to receive alerts via text message, email or both. Campus community members with a colorado.edu, cu.edu, or cufund.org email address can register with the system at www.colorado.edu/alerts. Users are also encouraged to add Campus Alert to their phone contacts so that in an emergency the alert will display as received from the university. Rx Drug Abuse: A Community Wide Problem

Presenter: Laurie Lovedale, Peer Assistance Services, Inc. This training will take you through the basics of brain development and how prescription (Rx) medications hijack the brain's communication system. You will learn about the nature of addiction and how this relates to Rx medications. National, state and local statistics will be presented along with prevention strategies to reduce the abuse. LGBTQ Safe Zone Training

The GLBTQ Resource Center will be presenting three Safe Zone Trainings this summer that will provide education about gender and sexual diversity, about how to be an ally, and about CU-Boulder-specific LGBTQ policies and services. Webinar: Organizational Approaches to Web Accessibility

Please join OIT staff in viewing a webinar on organizational practices for improving web accessibility. Three staff members from Utah State University's Center for Persons with Disabilities will lead the session, which will cover principles of web accessibility, practices for creating accessible web materials, and guidelines on how to do a self-study on web accessibility. The webinar will be shown May 31, 11 am-2 pm in the Telecommunications Center, Room 215.

Let the Distribution Center Help You with Your Storage Needs!

The Distribution Center provides temporary and long term archive and inventoried storage for Boulder campus departments in secured climate controlled areas. Rates: $7.98 per pallet per month. Bulk floor storage $0.81 per square foot per month. The Distribution Center will normally pick up and deliver storage items at no extra charge. Larger pick ups, however, that require more than one person will be billed at an hourly rate of $42.81/hr.

CULearn Transition Clinic

Thursday, May 24 12-1 pm | Norlin Commons E113 Academic Technology is offering clinics for CULearn users to assist with the transition to Desire2Learn. One-on-one consultations will be available to help archive course content, export discussions and assignments, and take screenshots of the course layout. Advance registration is appreciated, but not required.
