For the Health of It: 'Health Care’s Impact on Trans Identity'

This program will focus on the medicalization of trans identity and its impact on the trans community, how access to healthcare impacts this identity, the stigma created by medicalizing this identity, as well as attempts being made to move away from this system. Discussion will explore how these issues affect trans people in ways other identities within the LGBTQ spectrum do not. Morgan Seamont from the GLBTQRC will facilitate on April 23, 2-3 p.m. in UMC 426.

CU Museum Family Day: Eggs - which came first?

You will be amazed at how many kinds of eggs there are. We'll go way beyond birds to fish, reptiles, insects, amphibians and even some mammals that lay eggs. The CU Museum houses one of the largest fossil eggshell collections in the world, so there will be real dinosaur eggshells to explore. We'll have lots of eggs, nests and animal specimens from land and sea to look at up close, plus hands-on activities galore. LASP public lecture—Early results from the MAVEN mission to Mars

In this April 22 talk, MAVEN principal investigator, Bruce Jakosky, will discuss NASA’s most recent Mars mission and its early science results. The Mars Atmosphere and Volatile EvolutioN (MAVEN) mission has been in orbit around the red planet since Sept. 21, 2014, and is about five months into its one-Earth-year primary mission. Kram will present a series of studies about walking and a new training system. Ahmed will talk about the “risky business” that is movement, aging, and the brain. CU-Boulder Outreach and Engagement Award online submission forms now available

Online submission forms are now available for 2015-16 outreach and engagement award proposals. Boulder campus faculty are invited to submit proposals for outreach and engagement funds to be awarded by the CU-Boulder Outreach Committee in June 2015. Proposed outreach projects should extend faculty members’ research, teaching and creative work. Proposals are due by Monday, April 20 to http://outreachawards.colorado.edu/. Let celebrate this beautiful Catalan tradition with a writing competition. Three $100 awards for best work. The competition is divided into three main categories: * Catalan by non-native speakers. * English the topic should be related to the Catalan culture. * Catalan/Spanish by native speakers.
