'Sexpressions '

As part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, the Women’s Resource Center will hold "Sexpressions," a talent showcase celebrating positive expressions of women’s sexuality, on April 24, 7-10 p.m in the Glenn Miller Ballroom. "Sexpressions" creates a safe, sex-positive and affirming environment for self-identified women. In addition to fun and entertainment, there will be free food, games and dance contests, so be sure to come by for a night of fantastic performances. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Money Smart Expo for Students

In honor of National Financial Literacy Month, CU Money Sense will be hosting a Money Smart Expo for Students on Tuesday, April 21, from 12-5 p.m. in the UMC. The Fall of the Wall and After in German Film - Online, Summer Session B

Online course, Summer Session B Learn about German culture during and after unification through film. This course introduces German films since 1989. Topics include: unification, remembering the Holocaust and WWII, representing terrorism, remembering East Germany, transnational film and international coproductions, Turkish German cinema and Germany in the European Union. Our analyses will be informed by cultural studies approaches to film. GRMN 3514: German Society and Film after 1989. No prerequisites. Taught in English.

Screening of 'People's Park'

People's Park (Libbie D. Cohn and J.P. Sniadecki) is a 78-minute single shot documentary that immerses viewers in an unbroken journey through a famous urban park in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. A sensory meditation on cinematic time and space, People's Park offers a fresh gaze at public interaction, leisure and self-expression in China. A roundtable discussion with Daniel Boord, Christian S. Hammons and Timothy Oakes will follow the screening. Center for Asian Studies Speaker Series. Cannabis Symposium

Make sure the 2015 Cannabis Symposium is on your calendars for Wednesday, April 15, in the Wolf Law Building. Featured speakers at 10-11 a.m. (Chancellor Phil DiStefano), 1:30-2:30 p.m. (herbalist Brigitte Mars), and 6-7:30 p.m. (Major Neill Franklin). We are also offering eight panels/workshops with local experts, plus an invited faculty lecture on the cannabis genome project here at CU, and an activist keynote by the executive director of SSDP. Ask your professors if you can get extra credit for attending.

Sugar Free Feminism: Immigration

Join the Women's Resource Center as well as speakers from Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence to discuss immigration issues as they relate to women, specifically those surrounding immigrant survivors of domestic violence and the work that is being done to address their needs in our own community.
