Welcome Back Ice Cream + Bikes

Join Lutheran Campus Ministry for the Welcome Back Ice Cream Social on Saturday, Aug. 25 from 3pm-4pm. We'll be gathering at Grace Lutheran Church (13th and Euclid Ave on the Hill) to socialize and enjoy some homemade ice cream as the bikes of the Pro Cycle Challenge zoom to the finish beside the church.

CU at the Louisville Library: Animal Passions and Beastly Virtues

Research in cognitive ethology, the study of animal minds, and common sense indicate that animals are emotional, compassionate, empathic, and moral beings. How animals interact with one another tells us a lot about what's happening inside their heads and hearts. Professor Marc Bekoff will talk about animal emotions and moral behavior and the details of social play behavior and fair play especially in dogs, coyotes, and wolves. CU at the Louisville Library: Water, Water, Everywhere Nor Any Drop to Drink…Safely

Recent discoveries have revealed subtle but significant detrimental effects worldwide on the health of wildlife and humans by chemicals in our food, air, soil, and water. Many of these chemicals inhibit natural chemicals in our bodies that control our physiology and behavior, development, reproduction, obesity, and general health. David Norris, professor of integrative physiology, will discuss the implications on the health of wildlife, humans, and future generations. CU at the Louisville Library: African Songs of Life with the 1000 Voices

A participatory community singing, dancing, and storytelling for all ages, led by Nii Armah Sowah with the 1000 Voices Project. 1000 Voices was founded on the conviction that whenever we raise our voices collectively, change is inevitable. What is Gender Violence, Anyway?!

Presentations on gender violence, sexual assault, stalking, intimate partner abuse, or rape are available for student groups, events or classes. Community Health and The Office of Victim Assistance address Gender Violence Prevention by offering prevention programs for students.
