Male Volunteers Needed for IPHY Study

Participants needed for a physiology study about the role of inflammation on blood vessel function. We are looking for men, 50-79 years old, non-smokers, not taking prescription medications and not doing regular aerobic exercise. Must be available weekday mornings. Center for Community Dining Center

August Closure: The C4C Dining Center will be closed from Saturday, 8/11 through Monday 8/20. It reopens on Tuesday, 8/21 from 10 am–8 pm. Normal hours resume on Wednesday, 8/22. The Bakery at C4C will be open for you convenience!

FUN RESEARCH PROJECTS FOR KIDS!

The Cognitive Development Center in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience is looking for children age birth to 10 years old who are interested in playing games that will help us to understand memory and language development. A visit, scheduled at your convenience, lasts about 30 minutes. Babysitting is available for siblings. Parents are compensated for travel and kids receive a fun prize. Volunteer to Be a Convocation Marshal

Friday, Aug. 24, 2012 is the Chancellor’s Incoming New Student Convocation, march and Global Jam! Convocation is at Coors event center, 11–11:45 am. The Chancellor, Provost and other’s will speak. After convocation, students will move to Farrand Field and Global Jam. 7,000 people are attending and we need volunteers for two hours. WANTED: RESEARCH PARTICIPANTS

Researchers at the University of Colorado at Boulder seek right-handed individuals 23-50 years old with no neurological impairment, no current or past major psychiatric disorder, and no metal implants/pacemakers for laboratory and brain imaging (fMRI) studies. Eligible participants will be paid $200 over the course of 6 weeks, with 2 fMRI scans, plus opportunities for additional compensation. Mars Curiosity Rover Talk

Fiske Planetarium will be offering a FREE public event on Monday Aug. 6 at 7 pm. This program will feature a talk by CU scientist Dr. David Brain and the debut of some of the first images to be taken by this mars rover. Mars Curiosity is the largest unmanned rover ever sent beyond Earth. It is roughly the size of a Volkswagen Bug and weighs about a ton. Many dub this as the SUV of rovers. The program is FREE.
