GlobeMed's 5K Run for Life

Put on your running shoes! GlobeMed at CU is putting on a 5K Fundraiser. Join others on a moderate 3.1-mile course through CU-Boulder's beautiful South Campus. And don't forget you can use this race to qualify for the top BolderBOULDER heats. The race is a fundraiser for GlobeMed's Women Empowerment Program. 100 percent of the proceeds will go toward funding the program, which provides education to women involving literacy skills, pre- and post natal care, family planning information, and basic hygiene practices. An award ceremony will follow.

Fundraiser to benefit the University of Colorado’s Speech, Language and Hearing Center (SLHC)

The NSSLHA CU-Boulder chapter is having a fundraiser at The Corner on Wednesday, April 24. The Corner is conveniently located on the Hill, serving delicious coffee and espresso beverages, froyo, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Bring in this flyer and they will donate 15 percent of your sales to the SLHC The SLHC provides comprehensive audiological, speech and language services to children and adults in the Boulder and Denver community. We do not turn anyone away based on financial need.

Staff Council spring blood drive: two days only

One whole blood donation can save and enhance the lives of up to three patients. Join Staff Council for the annual Spring Blood Drive in partnership with Bonfils Blood Center. The blood drive will be held from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on April 23 and 24, 2013. Call or visit www.bonfils.org (use site code 0248) to make your appointment today. Readings and films from the 1900s to the 2000s: provocative women’s fiction and radical feminist theories, great female poets, Soviet film classics and recent movies and performances by women artists (Pussy Riot group), fascinating life stories. New Summer Term A, Scandinavian Course Offering: Medieval Icelandic Sagas

SCAN 3204-3. Medieval Icelandic Sagas, Term A, 9:15-10:50 a.m. M-F. Advanced introduction to medieval Icelandic saga with readings in the family, outlaw, skald and legendary sagas as well as the main scholarly approaches to this unique literature. Topics include honor, blood feud, fate, sexuality/gender, oral composition and legend. Taught in English. Approved for arts and sciences core curriculum: literature and the arts.

26.2 for Boston: Move in a way that inspires you

On Monday, April 22, the CU Rec Center would like you to move in a way that inspires you to show support for the city of Boston, Boston Marathon runners and spectators, the running community and people in your own community. Pick any type of movement that inspires you and do 26.2. Run, walk, lift, stretch, breath...honor those lost and those injured. Stand proud and united and make your own statement. Rec Center admittance is free with Buff OneCard. Fitness classes are free along with other activities that promote 26.2 of movement.

We know you'll be hungry from studying for finals so there will be FREE pizza too!
