Free finals week fitness classes

From Saturday, May 4 - Friday, May 10, the Rec Center will be offering free fitness classes. Experience a variety of classes available during the week. Included on the schedule; Zumba, cycle, yoga and Chocolate Meditiation. For the complete class schedule visit the Rec Center website.

Suzanne Larsen Retirement Party

Join us to celebrate Suzanne Larsen's retirement on Tuesday, May 14 from 2 - 4 p.m. in the Earth Sciences and Map Library in Benson. Suzanne, Associate Dean of the Libraries and former Faculty Director of the Earth Sciences Library, has been with the University since 1988. Previous positions include the Faculty Director of the Math Physics Library and the acting Faculty Director of the Science Library. Come wish Suzanne well on her next adventure!

Family Therapy for Youth with Mood Problems

The Colorado Family Project, a group of clinicians and researchers at CU, is conducting a study of family-based therapy for youth with mood swings and a family history of bipolar disorder. Treatment focuses on helping youth and their families understand and cope with mood swings, develop plans for preventing moods from getting worse, communicate more effectively, and solve family problems. Treatment is free of charge, and families are compensated for participation in regular research interviews.

New Summer Term A, Scandinavian Course Offering: Medieval Icelandic Sagas

SCAN 3204-3. Medieval Icelandic Sagas, Term A, 9:15-10:50 a.m. M-F. Advanced introduction to medieval Icelandic saga with readings in the family, outlaw, skald and legendary sagas as well as the main scholarly approaches to this unique literature. Topics include honor, blood feud, fate, sexuality/gender, oral composition and legend. Taught in English. Approved for arts and sciences core curriculum: literature and the arts.

The course is designed for nonmusic majors with no prior musical experience. Earn 2 credits during Maymester's three-week term.
