Summer Sing-Along

This year's Great American Summer Sing-Along will be Sunday, June 30, at 3 p.m. We'll be in the Grusin Music Hall, Imig Building on CU campus This year Greg Gentry, director of Choral Studies at CU-Boulder and Anna Gentry, Music Theatre Historian at Arizona State University, will conduct the program. Songs will include favorites from the Tin Pan Alley era, featuring songs by George M. Cohan, Irving Berlin, Harry Warren, as well as George and Ira Gershwin.

Christian Graduate Student Dinner and Discussion

Join us this summer for weekly dinners and discussions about how we relate to God! Every Wednesday evening in June and July from 6-8 p.m., the Graduate Christian Fellowship gathers to share a meal, enjoy the company of old friends and new, and spend time in discussion, prayer, or worship. This summer we’ll be considering how we relate to God, to those within our community, and to others. For the first three weeks, we’ll be practicing ways in which we relate to God: worship, prayer, and confession. Come check it out!

Yoga Intensive - Embrace the Challenge

Call for 2013 Diversity and Inclusion Summit Session proposals – due June 19

The Diversity & Inclusion Summit Committee is seeking proposals for the 2013 Summit held at CU-Boulder on Nov. 13-14. Proposals should identify innovative and progressive action toward diversity, inclusion and social justice, and should meet the theme and promote action for “Building the Road Map: Realizing Diversity and Inclusion for CU-Boulder, City of Boulder and Boulder County.” Goals -Teach us - To affect the change we want to see -Challenge us - To shift our lives and culture -Inspire us - To move from talk to action

Have you or someone you know experienced worrisome changes in thoughts and feelings?

ADAPT is a place for young people worried about recent changes in their thoughts, perceptions and feelings. Eligible participants are ages 12 to 21 and have experienced one or more of the following symptoms: -Unusual thoughts -Suspiciousness or paranoia -A sense of having special powers or unrealistic plans for the future -Unusual experiences with seeing or hearing things that are not there. If ADAPT is found to be a good fit for you, you will be invited to participate in a compensated 2-year longitudinal study. Call 303-492-4616

WANTED: Healthy adolescents and young adults, 12 to 21 for study

Earn $25 for participation in a 2-hour study The Adolescent Development and Preventive Treatment (ADAPT) research program is looking for individuals to participate in a study of mental health and adolescent development. Potential invitation to attend 3 additional annual time points at 6-7 hours each ($25 per hour for these). If interested, please call the ADAPT at 303-492-4616. A confidential phone screen conducted to determine your child’s or your own initial eligibility. Individuals under age 18 must have their parents call.

Hearing research study participants needed

The Hearing Research Lab at the University of Colorado Boulder is seeking adults with normal hearing and/or with hearing loss to participate in a study of hearing and memory. Testing will take place on the CU-Boulder campus and will require approximately 5 hours, broken up over two or three appointments. Listeners will be compensated for their time. The Friends of the CU Libraries invites you to its annual Just Desserts event featuring local mystery author Mike Befeler, best known for his geezer lit mysteries. In his presentation, Rejection Is Not a Four Letter Word: Navigating Rejection in the World of Writing, Mike will talk about the ups and downs of getting published, using humorous examples of facing repeated rejection from his own experience and that of famous authors.
