2013-14 work-study recruiting opportunity

The Student Employment office is preparing to send a mailing to approximately 1,500 incoming freshmen and transfer students who have work-study awards for next year. The info is designed to help students get a work-study job set up for when they begin in fall. Research Participants ages 12-21 needed at University of Colorado

Earn $25 for participation in a 2-hour study The Adolescent Development and Preventive Treatment (ADAPT) research program is looking for individuals to participate in a study of mental health and adolescent development. Potential invitation to attend 3 additional annual time points at 6-7 hours each ($25 per hour for these). If interested, please call the ADAPT at (303) 492-4616. A confidential phone screen will be conducted to determine your child’s or your own initial eligibility.

The Office of Victim Assistance (OVA) offers free confidential information, counseling, advocacy, and support to all University of Colorado Boulder students, staff, faculty and their significant others. We are open over the summer if you or a friend would like assistance with a traumatic or life disrupting experience. Fun research projects for kids!

The Cognitive Development Center in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience is looking for children age birth to 14 years old who are interested in playing games that will help teach us about memory and language development. A visit, scheduled at your convenience, lasts about 30 minutes. Babysitting is available for siblings. Parents are compensated for travel and kids receive a fun prize.

Family therapy for youth with mood problems

The Colorado Family Project, a group of clinicians and researchers at CU, is conducting a study of family-based therapy for youth with mood swings and a family history of bipolar disorder. Treatment focuses on helping youth and their families understand and cope with mood swings, develop plans for preventing moods from getting worse, communicate more effectively and solve family problems. Treatment is free of charge, and families are compensated for participation in regular research interviews.

Paid research participation opportunity for car experts

CU-Boulder department of psychology is looking for participants who are excellent at identifying makes and models of modern cars. Brain activity will be recorded with sensors that are held on your head with a device similar to a hair net. Sensors are soaked in a saline solution, so your hair and face will get damp. The procedure is completely safe and painless. Pays $15/hour and a bonus $25 to the highest scoring participant. Must be 18-30 years old, right handed, and male. Signup Information

Discover Boulder's beer brewing history June 21!

American Red Cross CPR Certification

Get your American Red Cross CPR/FA/AED certification at the Rec Center. This eight-hour Standard CPR/First Aid/AED Course covers everything from burns and broken bones to choking and heart attacks. This is an extended course that includes adult, infant, and junior CPR and AED. The certification is good for two years. You must attend the entire class to receive certification.
