Subjects needed for study: risk and movement

The Neuromechanics Lab at CU-Boulder needs volunteers for a study on risk and movement decision making. You must be English-speaking, right-handed, between 18-40 years old, and have normal or corrected vision, have no neurological or other problems that affect your movement control, and have no recent orthopedic surgeries or broken bones. The study is expected to last 3-4 hours. Participants will be compensated $10 per hour with the opportunity to earn additional payment (up to $24). Contact: Megan O’Brien.

Participants needed for research at University of Colorado ages 12-21

Earn $25 for participation in a 2-hour study The Adolescent Development and Preventive Treatment (ADAPT) research program is looking for individuals to participate in a study of mental health and adolescent development. 2013 North American Wind Energy Academy (NAWEA) Symposium

The NAWEA Symposium, to be held Aug. 6-8 at the University of Colorado Boulder, is a series of technical meetings that will examine the broad range of topics required to achieve high wind penetration in the North American power generation sector. In addition to Wind Energy System Science and Technology technical tracks, the symposium will also feature sessions that provide perspectives, overviews, and approaches necessary to maximize future deployment. Participants needed for focus group about helping reduce alcohol risk

Students (ages 18-21) are needed to participate in a focus group about educating students on how to recognize the need to care for their friends and peers at social gatherings involving alcohol. You’ll be compensated $60 for your participation. Christian graduate student dinner and discussion

When Magic Meets Quantum Physics, a free public lecture

Nothing seems further apart than a physicist and a magician. Nevertheless, these two communities have a lot in common, both in their methodology and goals. By showing both magic tricks and physics experiments renowned physicist Thierry Giamarchi will discuss the connections between magic and science, especially in relation to the breath-taking and bizarre world of quantum mechanics, which has taken -- often without our realizing it -- so much importance in our everyday lives. Free Boot Camp sponsored by Nike

The CU Rec Center will be hosting a free Boot Camp on Farrand Field at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10. Nike is sponsoring the event and will provide footwear for both men and women to try. A raffle will conclude the boot camp and one lucky participant will head home with a new pair of shoes. This event is open to the CU community.
