Buff Stops 2013: Volunteers needed to welcome new students!

Welcome new Buffs to our campus by becoming a Buff Stops volunteer! Buff Stops are tables where students can get help with finding a class and other campus resource information. We’ll have volunteers at three campus locations on the first two days of class from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. You will be provided with campus maps/other materials and are welcome to bring promotional items to further advertise your own office’s information or upcoming events. Join the Diversity Network in global education – free resources

The Office of International Education sponsors an institutional membership to the Diversity Network, a leading professional network dedicated to diversity and equity in global education. Explore resources like professional development materials, advising resources, country notes and scholarships for students. See the Diversity Network website for more details. Contact the Office of International Education and we will add you to the Network at no cost to you.

Fall Welcome Picnic- BFIS (Boulder Friends of International Students)

All new international students, even those who didn't sign up for BFIS, are welcome to join Boulder Friends of International Students for their annual fall Welcome Picnic on Sun, Sept. 8 from 5-7 p.m.! Free food! Enjoy a picnic at nearby Martin Park and meet some great people from the community. Use your RTD bus pass to take the SKIP bus south to Broadway and Table Mesa Drive. The park is on the north east corner.

Wednesdays @ Somewhere

Join CU International each Wednesday evening for dinner at a local restaurant (different locations are chosen weekly). The first two weeks, meet in the downstairs lobby of the Center for Community at 6:30 p.m. After that, check the CU International website for that week's location. Be sure to bring your RTD bus pass and about $10-$15 for dinner. Starts Aug. 21.

International Coffee Hour

Come and meet great people while sharing great conversation and free refreshments on Fridays, 4-5:30 p.m. in the UMC Grill. No reservations are required. International Coffee Hour continues each Friday, when classes are in session throughout fall and spring semesters. Starting Aug. 30!

Hike with CU International

All new international students are invited to join CU International for a hike on one of the many beautiful local trails. Meet at the UMC reception desk on the 2nd floor at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 25. Be ready for rain or shine. Don't forget: Bring your RTD Bus pass, water, sunscreen, hat and hiking shoes!

CU International Potluck Picnic

All new international students are welcome to join ISSS and CU International for a Potluck Picnic on Sat, Aug. 31! Bring a dish or a drink to share with everyone and enjoy a picnic at nearby Martin Park! Meet at the UMC bus stop at 5 p.m. to use your RTD bus pass to take the SKIP bus south to Broadway and Table Mesa Drive. The park is on the north east corner.

Chancellor's Reception for International Students

Join ISSS for the Chancellor's Reception on Wed. Sept. 4 from 4-6 p.m. on the east patio of the C4C to welcome all new international students to CU-Boulder. There will be free food and refreshments from around the world. No need to RSVP, just come!

Campus tour for new international students

Join CU International for a free walking tour of CU-Boulder's campus on Wed, Aug. 21. Meet in the downstairs lobby of the Center for Community at 4:30 p.m. to explore the buildings, grounds and other great features around campus.

BBQ for new international students

All new international students are invited to join ISSS and Residence Life on the lawn of Williams Village for a BBQ picnic on Saturday, Aug. 24. Students living on-campus can meet in the C4C lobby at 3:45 p.m. to take the Buff Bus. Be ready for rain or shine! Enjoy delicious free food!
