Museum of Natural History summer workshop: Dino Detectives-A Day in the Life

Every Thursday at the Museum of Natural History children from K-5th grade can engage in hands-on science discovery. They will enjoy expeditions through museum exhibits and collections while participating in games and activities. This week kids become junior paleontologists and understand what it means to be a museum scientist. The fee is $25 per workshop, snack is provided, and the workshops take place from 9 a.m. - noon. CU-Natural History Museum summer workshop Archaeology-Snacks and Attacks

Thursday 7/11 from 9 a.m. - noon children grades K-5th will be engaged in hands on science discovery at the CU Museum of Natural History. The younger group K-2nd grade, will climb their way up the food chain in Snacks and Attacks. Real museum specimens will be the guide to understanding what animals eat. The 3rd-5th grade group will explore design and engineering in the field of archaeology. The fee is $25 per workshop and snack is provided. Dinosaur Detectives for Children at the CU Museum of Natural History on Thursday, June 27

Dinosaur Detectives(K-2) Spend some time with our dinosaurs, exploring them inside and out! Unearth a real fossil, cast your own soap from a real fossil mold and more. Art and Nature(3-5) We’ll study petroglyphs and paint on stone with natural earth pigments, carve an arctic animal out of soap, and create a wearable work of art. Each workshop meets for three hours from 9a.m.-12p.m. at the CU Museum of Natural History. Healthy snacks will be provided.The fee is $25 per workshop ($5 discount for CU faculty/staff). 2-1666 to register.

Summer Session offers a wide range of courses throughout a series of flexible terms. Session B begins July 9 and runs through Aug. 9. Session B is your last chance to earn credit this summer. Register via myCUinfo up until the first day of class.

Farewell Party for John Culshaw

The University Libraries will be holding a farewell party for Senior Associate Dean John Culshaw to celebrate his more than 21 years of service to the Libraries and to wish him well in his new position as the University Librarian at the University of Iowa.
