Open to all majors, this unique global seminar based in Madrid with visits to Barcelona, Granada, Pujol and Figueres offers unforgettable insights into the rich visual culture of Spain, from Goya to the present, in five weeks. Led by Frances Charteris, the course includes visits to museums and architectural sites; photography and film are covered, as well as flamenco and bullfighting. Take a break with CU Walks

CU Walks invites you to take a break and go for a lunchtime walk on campus. We start our walk Monday-Friday at noon from the west side of Carlson Gym, near the Rec Center. We encourage individuals in the CU community to obtain the physical and mental health benefits of a free, safe, convenient and social recreational opportunity. Our group has established a scenic and safe 1.5 mile (30 minute) loop around campus. We are a collaboration of students and faculty of the Integrative Physiology Department together with the Rec Center.

CU Boulder Swing Dancing Club, Free Thursday Lesson and Social Dance!

Hey everybody, this Thursday Sept. 5 join the CU Swing Dance Club at 7 pm for an hour long swing lesson and then a social dance until 10 pm! Totally free and no experience necessary! Come alone or bring friends, no partner is required. Just make sure to wear flat-soled shoes to dance in! We will be in UMC 235 which is near the front main entrance of the UMC -The club will be held every Thursday night at the same time, we will post the location each week! Come join Creatio Outdoors Sept. 6-8 in a fun and meaningful adventure while we climb Mt. Lincoln, Mt. Cameron, Mt. Democrate, and Mt. Bross.

The Chinese Crises of 1900: Drought, Insurrection, and Invasion in the Year of the Boxers

This illustrated talk, given by Jeffrey Wasserstrom, Chancellor's Professor of History at UC Irvine, will focus on the Boxer Crisis of 1900, looking at how it has been linked to "catastrophes" of different sorts. Also to be explored are the ways that memories of and stories about the Boxers have affected Chinese relations with the West up to the present.
