Research participants needed for paid study, ages 12-21

Earn $25 for participation in a -hour study The Adolescent Development and Preventive Treatment (ADAPT) research program is looking for individuals to participate in a study of mental health and adolescent development. Potential invitation to attend additional annual time points at 6-7 hours each ($25 per hour for these). If interested, please call the ADAPT at (303) 492-4616. A confidential phone screen will be conducted to determine your child’s or your own initial eligibility. Individuals under age 18 must have their parents call.

Colorado Ski Racing

Our mission is to provide an opportunity for CU-Boulder students to continue or begin ski racing after high school, even if they are not varsity caliber athletes; all ability levels are welcome. This program is designed as a stepping stone for building character, friendships, improving team skills, time management skills, physical fitness, mental focus and attaining goals. Who wouldn't want to make new friends, ski all the time and have fun?

Buffer Buffalo 5K Nov. 2

Come out and support the CU Triathlon Team, your 15-time national champions and run a few miles while doing it. The Buffer Buffalo 5K is a fundraiser that will help the team travel to regional and national conference races in the spring. The race will take place on CU's Main Campus this Sunday at 9 a.m. There will be a raffle full of good prizes after the race. Register today

LASP public lecture—Kepler to K2: Repurposing a great observatory

In this Nov. 12 talk, Ball Aerospace Kepler Program Manager, John Troeltzsch, will discuss highlights of the NASA Kepler space telescope's prime mission (one that continues to revolutionize our understanding of the prevalence and characteristics of exoplanets in our galaxy through data analysis), how the repurposed K2 mission came about, and what scientists hope K2 will accomplish. In the LASP SPSC building (Room W120), located at 3665 Discovery Dr. in the East Campus Research Park. Parking and admission are free. Doors open at 7 p.m.

The French and Italian department invites you to join in the celebration of the Italian Language and Culture Week. Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 3 - 4, 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. in HUMN living area: Exhibit on the Dolomites. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 7:30 p.m. in HUMN 150: Presentations on the Dolomites. There are going to be door prizes and refreshments will follow. Thursday, Nov. 6, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., in HUMN living area: Italian dessert competition. Stop by and vote for the best and the yummiest dessert.

12th annual Front Range Bioneers: A bioneers resilient communities network event

The Front Range Bioneers event creates community opportunities for sharing, learning and action, and brings together the region's progressive ideas, people and organizations.

Annual Students Against Genocide conference Nov. 8-9

Join the Colorado Coalition for Genocide Awareness and Action at CU-Boulder for the 5th annual Youth Against Genocide conference, co-hosted by STAND, the leading student anti-genocide organization in the United States. Come learn about activism and action and meet new people who are as passionate as you are. This year's theme is 'Injustice for One is Injustice For All" and we will be focusing largely on taking action and making our voices heard. The conference will be held in Old Main, Nov. 8-9, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
