There are programs in Sydney, Melbourne, the Gold Coast and more. Andy Henderson, resident director in Melbourne for ISA, an approved study abroad organization, will be present to discuss first-hand what it's like to study abroad Down Under. You can enroll at a local university, live in dorms or apartments, and take courses in almost every major …all while exploring the amazing landscapes of Australia.

Moth Mania!

Join us for dinner and moth viewing at the CU Museum of Natural History. We'll have pizza, salad and ice cream while we learn a bit about moths. Hands-on activities include creating an observation jar, designing a clay caterpillar to study predation, and exploring live caterpillars. At dark, we'll set up black lights outside to attract moths. Moth experts will share fascinating facts about moths with you. Advance registration and payment required. $10 for those over 10 years old; $7 for those under 10 years old. All ages welcome.

The wonderful world of bats

Come join Dr. Rick Adams of the University of Northern Colorado for his lecture about one of the most enigmatic animals on Earth! The real-life story of bats eclipses all myths and fairy tales surrounding this misunderstood mammal. Their novel physiology and anatomy that allows both flight and "sight" in complete darkness thanks to echolocation. In addition, their deep social and emotional lives make them one of the most interesting species crucial to our ecosystem. Join us Wednesday Sept. 16, at 6 p.m. at the CU Natural History Museum.

Alternative Breaks site leaders applications open

2016 Alternative Breaks site leaders applications are open. Alternative Breaks is a student-led group that travels nationally for service trips. Each trip focuses on a social or environmental justice issue and is either one week long during spring break or two weeks in May. Site leaders go through leadership training to organize the trips. It is a great way to get involved and gain leadership experience. Being a site leader is now also accepted for course credit. Applications due: Sept. 14 More info: www.colorado.edu/volunteer

Study film and art in Paris this summer

Spend three weeks in May and June studying French film, art and culture. All majors can apply and receive three UD credits. Course also fulfills UD Literature and Arts core. Taught in English by film professor, Suranjan Ganguly (ganguly@colorado.edu). A mix of screenings, lectures and excursions in and around Paris.
