Fall Volunteer Fair Sept. 1

The Volunteer Resource Center is holding their Fall 2015 Volunteer Fair on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2 to 6 p.m. at the UMC Fountain and Arcade Area. Meet representatives from 80+ diverse campus and community organizations. This is a great opportunity to find a variety of volunteer opportunities in Boulder and surrounding areas that focus on a variety of services such as environment conservation, poverty, animal rights, youth education and so much more. Want to learn about fairytales? Fall 2015 course still open

Where do fairytales come from, what do they tell us, and why do they continue to be a source of inspiration? Learn the answers to these questions by taking RUSS 2231-010 where fairytales are explored through various aspects of Russian culture, including literature, music, film and popular culture. The class is taught in English by Professor Laura Osterman and is approved for arts and sciences core curriculum: literature & the arts. Lecture is 2 to 2:50 p.m. M/W with recitations. Participants needed for electrically assisted bicycle study

The Applied Exercise Science Lab is seeking sedentary subjects aged 18 to 55 to study electrically assisted bicycling (bicycle with a motor that only provides assistance when you pedal) and its potential effects on overall health. The experiment will consist of five separate sessions (up to 2.5hrs long) over 7 weeks. Benefits of participating include: body composition (% body fat), fitness assessment, bone density, glucose tolerance assessment and blood lipid profile. As compensation, you will be entered into a raffle to win an electric bike.
