2015 Alternative Breaks site leaders needed

2016 Alternative Breaks site leaders applications are open. Alternative Breaks is a student-led group that travels nationally for service trips. Each trip focuses on a social or environmental justice issue and is either one week long during spring break or two weeks in May. Site leaders go through leadership training to organize the trips. It is a great way to get involved and gain leadership experience. Being a site leader is now accepted for course credit. Applications due: Sept. 14 For questions go to www.colorado.edu/volunteer

Moth Mania Sept. 22

Join us for dinner and moth viewing at the CU Museum of Natural History on Sept. 22 at 6 p.m. We'll have pizza, salad and ice cream while we learn a bit about moths. Hands-on activities include creating an observation jar, designing a clay caterpillar to study predation, and exploring live caterpillars. At dark, we'll set up black lights outside to attract moths. Moth experts will share fascinating facts about moths with you. Advance registration and payment required. $10 for those over 10 years old; $7 for those under 10 years old.
