OIE Global Citizen Award Nomination

The Office of International Education (OIE) is pleased to announce the OIE Global Citizen Awards to honor and recognize outstanding contributions to international understanding by members of the CU-Boulder community. Applications and supporting material are due by 5 p.m. on Oct. 2, 2015. Performance Friday!

The Center for Humanities and the Arts invites you to this month's Performance Friday! featuring Thomas Riis, director of CU’s American Music Research Center. Professor Riis will introduce the upcoming 100th birthday celebration of George Lynn - distinguished conductor, composer and teacher. College of Music colleagues will perform sections from the George Lynn Centennial. Please join us Sept. 25, from noon to 1 p.m., on Norlin Library’s 5th Floor. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. for a free, light lunch.

UMC renovation update

With feedback from students, we are ready to share the plans for the renovations to the 2nd and 3rd floors of the UMC. We have the layout to show what each area will include; we have a few color palettes and we would like your feedback on the color schemes for each area. Join us for this update on Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 5:30 p.m. in The Gallery (2nd floor of the UMC). Light refreshments will be available.

Participants needed for survey about perceptions of people in different careers--Chance to win $25

We are seeking CU undergraduates who are 18 or older to participate in a study about perceptions of people in various careers. The study consists of a 20 to 25 minute survey, taken online. You will be asked to answer questions about what you think about people in different jobs. As compensation, you will be entered into a raffle to win one of 10 $25 cash prizes with a 1/20 chance of winning the cash prize. If you're interested, please click this link to start the survey.

Peace Corps Extravaganza at CU Sept. 24

The Peace Corps Extravaganza is back to welcome you into a new year at CU! Join us at this fun event to learn about travel, culture, and hear personal stories of service from returned Peace Corps volunteers who have lived all over the world. We will have free food, a cultural dance performance, lots of returned Peace Corps volunteers and a keynote presentation by Sherry Manning, executive director of the ENCA organic farm in the Philippines. Learn to knit with the Makers Collective Sept. 15

The Makers Collective is a student group focused on the building, fabrication and general creation of all things art and technology. Join us for one of our many workshops this semester, stop in to get help or show off your latest projects, or just come eat pizza and meet some new, interesting people. This week, the Makers Collective will be learning to knit! We'll meet on Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 5 p.m. in ENVD 234 (the ATLAS BTU Lab,) and go until our arms fall off. Join us, and knit yourself a new hobby.

Rocky Mountain Interdisciplinary History Conference
