Tito Torres Award

The CU Chancellor’s Standing Committee on Gender and Sexuality welcomes nominations for the 2016 Tito Torres Award. Given annually to a student at the University of Colorado, the Tito Torres award honors a student who exemplifies the spirit of Tito Torres, a student whose passion and work for social justice inspired and uplifted many. Nomination forms are due by Monday, April 11, at 5 p.m. to the Gender and Sexuality Center, 105 UCB, Center for Community N450, Boulder, CO 80309 or by email to Scarlet Bowen. ph:303.492.2966.

AIA lecture series: Memory construction and collaborative archaeology at Punta Laguna, Mexico

Join us and Sarah Kurnick of the CU-Boulder Anthropology Department on April 13, at 7 p.m. at the CU Museum of Natural History for our next AIA lecture! Kurnick considers the use of the past by the Postclassic and contemporary residents of Punta Laguna, Mexico. The Postclassic Maya incorporated certain aspects of the Classic political past while simultaneously rejecting others. Do rulers continue to emphasize their ties to the past, or do they eschew the past as a source of authority?

Last day to register for Digital Media Bootcamp

Digital Media Boot Camp (DMBC) offers a focused introduction to digital media production designed to teach practical digital media and technological skills to people from any field. These all-day intensive classes are offered at the ATLAS center and will feature a small, hands-on learning environment. Students will learn to use industry technologies, applications, and creative tools; skills that are critical for any industry. The class will be taught May 9-26. More info found here.
