Family Day - Becoming Butterflies at the CU Museum

Join us for the opening of our newest exhibit: Becoming Butterflies. From egg to caterpillar to chrysalis to adults (and back again to egg)-amazing things happen at every stage of the butterfly’s life. Explore how caterpillars’ dietary habits influence plant evolution, the wondrous beauty of their eggs, and the colorful scales on a wing. Put yourself in the shoes of the scientists who study butterflies in the field and the artists who interpret their beauty. Come celebrate the opening with hands on activities and crafts for the whole family.

Teen improv class with the Colorado Shakespeare Festival

The Colorado Shakespeare Festival is offering a one-day "improvaganza" workshop for students ages 13-18. Led by theater veteran Adrian Egolf, students will explore all the facets of what it takes to be an amazing improvisor, think on their feet and make audiences laugh. Improvaganza will take you through a crash course of the fundamentals of improv, providing the basic skills needed for a strong foundation to propel students towards comedic genius. Population Conversation: Exploring the Nuances

Franky Navarrette and Grant Peacock of the INVST Community Leadership Program will be supporting the Environmental Center in an event to explore the nuances of a conversation on overpopulation. The presentation will engage in topics concerning social justice, consumption and intersectionality. With a world population of over 7 billion there is a need to confront the consequences of consumption, limited resources and social and environmental impacts, while recognizing the unequal patterns of consumption. Sex positivity in the LGBTQ and allied community

Why is it important to talk about sex positivity for the LGBTQ community during Sexual Assault Awareness Month? Join Sarah Williams from the Office of Victim Assistance and Scarlet Bowen from the Gender and Sexuality Center for a discussion of the history of the sex positivity movement in the queer and allied community. Struggle, disillusionment, and rebellion among Chinese youth

CAS Luncheon Series, presented by Eric Fish, author of "China's Millennials: The Want Generation and writer at Asia Society." Fish profiles youth from around China and how they are navigating the education system, the workplace, divisive social issues and a resurgence in activism. His engrossing book challenges the idea that today’s youth have been pacified by material comforts and nationalism. Thursday, April 14, 5:30 p.m., Eaton Humanities 150, CU-Boulder.

Exploring water, cities, climate and music in India

This CAS Luncheon Series talk will be presented by Paul D. Miller, a.k.a. DJ Spooky, an electronic and experimental hip hop musician. His work has included recordings in Antarctica, and his current project is based in India. He has also recently published a book with MIT Press, The Imaginary App. Lunch will be provided for attendees. Alternative Break site leader applications open

Join the movement and become an Alternative Breaks site leader. Lead a trip focused on service in communities around the country during college breaks and gain credit while doing it. LDSP 4932 is the course that site leaders can enroll in to earn either elective credit or leadership minor credit. The priority deadline is April 22, if your application is submitted by this date, you are eligible to design a service trip around an environmental or social justice issue of your choice. Application deadline: April 22.

Only a few spots left for Better Boulder Day of Service

Better Boulder, Day of Service is here. This is a one day opportunity to volunteer with different community organizations around Boulder. It will take place April 16, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. You can look through the different service sites and sign up here. Be sure to sign up quickly as service sites fill up and the deadline is April 1.
