Stop by Regent Thursday, April 14, for cake provided by the Student Employment Office

The National Student Employment Association has declared that the second week in April is National Student Employment Week! This year, that’s April 10 – 16, and we want to show you our appreciation. Student employees and their supervisors should stop by and have a free slice of cake. Thursday, April 14, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. or until we run out of cake. We'll be on the North side of the Regent Administrative Building, on the patio. If weather is bad, we will be inside the building in the atrium.

CU-Boulder Outreach Award proposals due April 18

Proposals for the 2016-17 CU-Boulder Outreach Awards are due Monday, April 18, by 5 p.m. Boulder campus faculty are invited to submit proposals for funding outreach and engagement programs that extend faculty research, teaching or creative work. Proposals must be submitted online. Visit the Outreach and Community Engagement website to review the proposal guidelines for individual and faculty group awards and to access the submission forms. The Fulbright program is the U.S. government’s flagship program for international educational exchange, and CU-Boulder has an excellent record of U.S. Fulbright student grants. Come learn how you can apply for a Fulbright grant to do overseas study/research or to be an English teaching assistant overseas. These grants are for any student who will have at least a bachelor's degree by the time the grant starts in 2017-18 and won’t yet have completed a PhD. 4/19, 4 p.m., NRLN S-421; 4/27, 3 p.m., NRLN S-421.

2016 Wallace Stegner Award for National Book Award Winner and New York Times Columnist Timothy Egan

2016 Wallace Stegner Award - Timothy Egan 6:30 p.m. on April 13, Old Main Chapel. This award is presented to an individual who has made a sustained contribution to the cultural identity of the West through literature, art, history, lore or an understanding of the West. In the spirit of Wallace Stegner, the recipients have demonstrated singular achievement, creativity, and dedication to the perception of the West and Western issues. A special thanks to Al and Carol Ann Olson for making this event possible.

Paid research study for mothers expecting their first child

Perinatal Emotion and Relationships Longitudinal Study (PEARLS) Researchers in CU’s Department of Psychology and Neuroscience are recruiting women who are currently pregnant with their first child to participate in a paid study of their experiences of pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period. Recognizing excellence - Chancellor's Awards for Excellence in STEM Education

Up to $10,000 faculty/staff awards and part-time graduate awards of up to one year are available in support for STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education projects in the early stages, for the coordination of existing projects, or to seed efforts that can continue beyond the funding period.
