Join us and Sarah Kurnick of the CU-Boulder Anthropology Department on April 13, at 7 p.m. at the CU Museum of Natural History for our next AIA lecture! Kurnick considers the use of the past by the Postclassic and contemporary residents of Punta Laguna, Mexico. The Postclassic Maya incorporated certain aspects of the Classic political past while simultaneously rejecting others. Do rulers continue to emphasize their ties to the past, or do they eschew the past as a source of authority?
