Cuba Global Seminar interest meeting

Study "Gender, Race, and Political Economy" this summer in Cuba. You’ll earn six credits of Ethnic Studies upper-division credit. Lecture: Beetles (Coleoptera) Associated with Forensic Investigations

7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 9 Dr. Boris Kondratieff will delve into forensic entomology by illustrating how insects and other arthropods collected from or near human corpses are used to make scientific inferences in criminal investigations. Kondratieff explains, “When used in conjunction with other tools, insect evidence can be used to estimate the Post Mortem Interval.” He will highlight the importance of beetles as scavengers and decomposers. Presentation contains graphic elements.

Tour: Colorful Campus Tree Walk

5 p.m., Tuesday-Wednesday, Oct. 2-3 The CU Museum of Natural History and CU Facilities Management—Outdoor Services groups are teaming up to host two free tours of Boulder's unique and historic campus forest. The tours will meet at the south entrance of the museum (Henderson Building, near UMC) at 15th and Broadway and will be led by the always-enlightening and entertaining, 25+ year veteran and Senior Grounds Specialist, Alan Nelson (a.k.a. Tree Man).

6th Annual Buffalo Stampede 5k Run/Walk

A 5k run to raise money for the Health Board Medical Expense Assistance Fund. The event will be taking place on Sept. 30, 2012 starting at 9 am. The run will start and end at the Duane Physics field. We are currently accepting registrations for the run via a form on our website. You can also register race-day! Registration is $18.00 / person. All proceeds go to support our Medical Expense Assistance Fund, which helps students pay for medical expenses they can't afford.

123 law schools represented at the Law School Fair - Oct. 15

Admissions representatives from 123 laws schools will attend the Law School Fair Monday, Oct. 15 in the UMC Ballroom. This is the largest number ever for a law school fair in Colorado. Hundreds of potential law students from colleges and universities along the Front Range are expected to attend. In addition to meeting with Admissions Representatives, attendees are also welcome to hear Dean Reyes Aquilar from Utah Law speaking on "Financing Your Legal Education" at 12 pm in the Aspen Room, UMC 287. bold FREE AND OPEN TO ALL
