Lecture: Beetles (Coleoptera) Associated with Forensic Investigations

7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 9 Dr. Boris Kondratieff will delve into forensic entomology by illustrating how insects and other arthropods collected from or near human corpses are used to make scientific inferences in criminal investigations. Kondratieff explains, “When used in conjunction with other tools, insect evidence can be used to estimate the Post Mortem Interval.” He will highlight the importance of beetles as scavengers and decomposers.
