Lyrical Tales from the Far East

The Friends of the CU Libraries invites you to its first event of 2014, Lyrical Tales from the Far East, on Saturday, March 8, at 2 p.m., in the Center for British and Irish Studies in Norlin Library on the CU-Boulder campus. Author and storyteller Lindy Soon Curry will entertain with engaging Asian folktales, traditional dress, songs and harp music for all ages. This event is free and open to the public. A light catered reception follows the program. Pay parking available in lot 380 or the Euclid Autopark.

Elephant Poaching and Ivory Smashing: A Colorado Cause

A short documentary screening and panel discussion All around the world ivory is being crushed to help efforts to end the ivory trade in the hopes of saving African elephants. Learn more about the historic ivory smashing at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal in Denver, the first of its kind in the United States, and see short films produced for OnEarth.org and The Guardian by grad students and their advisor at CU-Boulder. Teaching English overseas info. night

Teaching English Overseas - What’s It All About? Come learn about the opportunities to teach English overseas, a popular way to get abroad for college grads. CU instructors from the university's International English Center will discuss personal experiences, teaching qualifications, accommodations, expenses, country-specific info, etc. The program will be held at the Division of Continuing Education Bldg; 1505 University Ave. starting at 5:30 p.m.

Kristin Miller retirement celebration

After 26 years of dedicated service to the University of Colorado, please join Senior Vice Chancellor Kelly Fox for a retirement celebration honoring Kristin Miller. Summer Session Info Fair on March 10

Discover what Summer Session has to offer at the Summer Session Info Fair, Monday, March 10, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the UMC Gallery. At the fair, you can talk with an advisor and explore your options. Advisors representing all the colleges and schools will be present. You will learn about unique summer offerings, including Maymester, online courses, and summer-exclusive courses taught by distinguished visiting faculty. Free pizza, bookstore giftcard drawings and giveaways provided.
