Lead network capstone poster event - April 4

2014 Capstone Poster Event Friday, April 4, 3-5 p.m. ATLAS 2nd Floor This year's capstone event is just around the corner. Teams of lead graduate teachers from all departments present data from teaching-as-research projects that they have completed this academic year. The Graduate Teacher Program provides drinks, hors-d’oeuvres and desserts. All graduate students and faculty mentors are invited. Prizes are awarded for various categories and door prizes are offered.

Well Fed: The organic food debate

Is organic food really better/healthier? And is it accessible to everyone? Come learn about the environmental and health effects of pesticides and GMOs, with a critical look at socioeconomic class and race, and how this affects a person’s ability to afford organic produce. Title: "In The Age of Communication Visibility: How Work Changes When People Can See What We Say and to Whom We Say It." In this talk, Professor Leonardi will discuss the consequences of this increasing communication visibility for our work, our careers and the organizations in which we labor.

AIA Lecture Series: 'Don't believe everything you read - Texts, archaeology, and destruction'

Generations of scholars have relied heavily on ancient literary accounts of the Roman sack of Corinth in the mid-second century B.C. to interpret archaeological remains in the city. New archaeological evidence offers numerous challenges to both ancient descriptions and modern interpretations and shows how many Corinthians dealt with the aftermath of this well-known ancient destruction.
