Generations of scholars have relied heavily on ancient literary accounts of the Roman sack of Corinth in the mid-second century B.C. to interpret archaeological remains in the city. New archaeological evidence offers numerous challenges to both ancient descriptions and modern interpretations and shows how many Corinthians dealt with the aftermath of this well-known ancient destruction.
