If you are interested in exploring careers and organizations dedicated to addressing important causes and issues, and making meaningful change in the world, this is the fair for you. College Freedom Forum presented by Distinguished Speakers Board and Cultural Events Board

The Distinguished Speakers Board and Cultural Events Board, in conjunction with CU Student Government, are collaborating with the Human Rights Foundation to bring the College Freedom Forum to campus on March 11 in the UMC’s Glenn Miller Ballroom. The event is free and open to the public and will feature four, TED-style talks from human rights activists from China, North Korea, Uganda, and Bahrain. The Business of Sports Certificate is a two-month intensive, six-credit course for undergraduates and recent graduates interested in pursuing careers in sports and recreation. In the morning, students learn basic business concepts including: Economics of Sports, Leadership and Ethics, Sports Law, Sports Marketing and Sports Management. In the afternoon, students work in groups on experiential, researched-based projects designed by contributing partners including the Broncos, Kroenke, USA Rugby and many more! CU Buffs 'Green Scenes' video contest

We’re excited to announce the campus-wide CU Buffs Green Scenes video contest from One Million Acts of Green. Do you carry a reusable water bottle? Do you grow your own tomatoes? Do you ride your bike or skateboard to class? To enter the contest, take a 10 - 30 second video of your Act of Green, upload it to YouTube, and fill out the contest form: http://bit.ly/1llmjME By submitting your video, you are authorizing the University of Colorado and the CU Environmental Center to use and reproduce the video materials for promotional purposes.

Campus Sustainability Awards: Nominations deadline March 4

The annual CU-Boulder Campus Sustainability Awards is now accepting nominations. The University of Colorado wishes to recognize outstanding individuals and departments who demonstrate a sincere commitment to reducing the burden that CU-Boulder places on the environment. Nominees must be faculty or staff members, students, alumni or a department at the University of Colorado Boulder campus. The nomination deadline is Tuesday, March 4, 2014. The awards ceremony will take place on Earth Day - Tuesday, April 22.

Entry Deadline Friday 3/14 - Thompson Awards for Western American Writing - $500

Each year, the Center of the American West awards $500 cash prizes to talented students writing on Western topics. All CU-Boulder degree students, both undergraduate and graduate, are eligible. Categories are poetry, fiction, memoir, creative non-fiction and academic non-fiction. The entry deadline is Friday, March 14.
