Learn a language

The Anderson Language Technology Center (ALTEC) is pleased to announce that registration is now open for summer language classes. These classes are non-credit and are open to the CU staff, faculty, graduate students, retirees and their spouses, as well as the Boulder community. Classes begin June 9 and meet three hours per week for five weeks. Tuition is $75 for CU affiliates, and $150 for community members. This summer choose from various levels of American sign language, French, Italian and Spanish. Sign up now.

Participants needed for speech study

Participate in paid psychology experiments over the summer

Our lab in the CU-Boulder psychology department is looking for participants for multiple experiments about human learning, memory, perception and language. Participants will be paid for their participation. You must be 18 - 29 years old and right handed to participate. Get paid $30 to dine out with your friends - SocialDining app study

The CSCI department research group is recruiting participants for a study to evaluate a new Android app that the group has developed called SocialDining. SocialDining helps groups of friends get together for food and drink, by voting on a restaurant or bar as well as the date/time of the meet up. 2014 Martz summer conference: Water and air quality issues in oil and gas development

June 5 - 6, Wolf Law Building Technological advances for extracting oil and gas from shale deposits have ushered in a new era of energy development in key resource-rich pockets throughout the US. In this event, we review the ongoing efforts of governments and industry to develop the regulatory and management practices necessary to protect water and air resources, drawing on the latest scientific research to tackle areas of uncertainty and to inform future action. This event is free to University of Colorado students, faculty and Staff.

Summer ceramics course: Processing the senses

This intensive course will introduce students to the broad and fundamental techniques of using clay as a material for making ceramics. Clay has a rich history of being inherently tied to the senses. With an emphasis on hand-building and wheel-throwing, a variety of ceramic techniques will be demonstrated. Students will complete a series of projects geared toward developing technical and conceptual art-making skills. NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED--All levels welcome and encouraged. Healthy young adults (ages 18-40) who are highly anxious in social situations can earn $10/hour participating in one 2.5-hour study session held in the Muenzinger Psychology Building at CU-Boulder. Participants will be asked to complete questionnaires, perform a challenging social task, and record heart rate non-invasively.
