Android phone users needed for research study

Android phone users (ages 18+ and fluent in English) can earn up to $15 for testing out a beta-version of an app and providing detailed user feedback. You will be asked to download and use an app on your smartphone designed to help people track their thoughts at random moments across 10 days (1-1.5 hours total usage time). $tart $mart salary negotiation workshop

Will you be graduating soon? Do you want to learn skills to negotiate a higher salary and better benefits? $tart $mart is an interactive workshop designed to give college women the confidence and skills to earn fair compensation upon graduation. Captives and Culture Change: A Study From Chaco Canyon

Archaeological evidence shows that societies of all social levels throughout time, possibly as early as the Neolithic era, used human captivity as a force for cultural transmission. As part of the Archaeological Institute of America (AIA) lecture series, Dr. Cameron will use case studies from around the world to discuss the prevalence and antiquity of captive-taking, in addition to who is taken captive and what happens to them. This free event will be held April 8, 7-8:30 p.m. at the CU Natural History Museum.

New online course: RUSS 2231 Fairy Tales of Russia

Folk beliefs and folk tales are a rich and enduring component of Russian culture. This online course will introduce students to a wide selection of Russian folk and fairy tales, and will examine the cultural, social and political values they reflect. We will examine the continuing cultural influence of fairytales and folk beliefs in literature, music and film, as well as in the political propaganda of the 20th century. This course fulfills the core requirement for “Literature and the Arts.” Course offered in summer "A" session.

The Yoga Club at CU

The Yoga Club is committed to providing traditional and down-to-earth yoga and meditation practices to all University of Colorado members, as well as cultivating a healthy community through monthly events and a semester retreat. We provide weekly yoga and meditation classes, which help to reduce stress and promote balance and mental clarity. 2016 Alternative Breaks site leader

Applications for 2016 Alternative Breaks site leaders are open. Alternative Breaks is a student-led group that works to create active citizens. Students participate in a week-long service trip during spring break or a two-week long service trip in May. Each trip focuses on a unique social or environmental justice issue. Site leaders go through leadership training and work together with the Alternative Breaks to plan and organize all the trips. It is a great way to get involved and gain leadership experience.

Thompson Writing Awards: Entry deadline March 22 - $500 prizes

Sunday, March 22, the last day of spring break, is the deadline for submitting your work to the 16th Annual Thompson Awards for Western American Writing. Each year, Center of the American West awards $500 cash prizes to talented students writing on Western topics. All CU-Boulder degree program students are eligible. Categories are poetry, fiction, memoir, creative non-fiction and academic non-fiction. For rules, entry form, and to read winning entries from previous years, please visit our website.
