Are you looking for practical computing and creative tech skills that compliment any major? Register today for Digital Media Boot Camp Maymester of 2015 in the ATLAS building. These all-day classes are offered in one of ATLAS’ teaching labs and feature a small, hands-on and collaborative learning environment. Students learn to use industry standard technologies, applications and computing or creative tools to successfully communicate and present ideas.

Digital Media Boot Camp is a three-week certificate program designed to help students be competitive, productive and versatile in today’s marketplace. Offered during Maymester (May 11 to 29), DMBC is an intensive and immersive introduction to digital media production that imparts a broad range of practical computing and technological skills to people from any field.

Systematics, social evolution and historical biogeography of sweat bees

The incredible behavioral diversity of sweat bees makes them ideal candidates for studies of social evolution. Their high abundance and distribution make them important contributors to the ecosystem, namely as pollinators. In this presentation, Jason Gibbs will discuss the diversity of social behavior and efforts to resolve taxonomic barriers to understand sweat bees' historical biogeography and social evolution. Come join us in the CU Natural History Museum on Thursday, March 19, 7-8:30 p.m. for this free lecture.

'Evaluating Mule Deer Migration Behavior, Tools of the Trade and What We Have Learned,' March 17

In his presentation, Chuck Anderson will examine the methods, techniques and technological advances used to address migration behavior, and provide examples from a mule deer research project being conducted in northwest Colorado. Join us at the CU Natural History Museum on Tuesday, March 17, 7-8:30 p.m. for this free lecture. This is the second lecture of the Steps in Stone Lecture Series on animal locomotion to accompany the Steps in Stone, Walking Through Time exhibit.
