Systematics, social evolution and historical biogeography of sweat bees

The incredible behavioral diversity of sweat bees makes them ideal candidates for studies of social evolution. Their high abundance and distribution make them important contributors to the ecosystem, namely as pollinators. In this presentation, Jason Gibbs will discuss the diversity of social behavior and efforts to resolve taxonomic barriers to understand sweat bees' historical biogeography and social evolution. Come join us in the CU Natural History Museum on Thursday, March 19, 7-8:30 p.m. for this free lecture.
