Captives and Culture Change: A Study From Chaco Canyon

Archaeological evidence shows that societies of all social levels throughout time, possibly as early as the Neolithic era, used human captivity as a force for cultural transmission. As part of the Archaeological Institute of America (AIA) lecture series, Dr. Cameron will use case studies from around the world to discuss the prevalence and antiquity of captive-taking, in addition to who is taken captive and what happens to them. This free event will be held April 8, 7-8:30 p.m. at the CU Natural History Museum.
