Diagnosed with bipolar disorder? Currently depressed? We are looking for potential participants for a paid research study on mood and emotion. Qualifying participants will be asked to come to our lab for a 3- to 4-hour session and will be compensated up to $40. Participation requirements: 1. Age: 25-55 2. Committed couples needed for study: $12 to $24 an hour

Are you currently married or have you been in a relationship for at least two years? Participate in a paid research study at the University of Colorado. Couples will be paid $12/hr each to complete a mild heat pain task and questionnaires about their relationship and health. Some couples will also be asked to participate in an MRI scan. The origins and mystery of the aurora

In this Dec. 2 talk, Allison Jaynes, LASP space physics research scientist, will discuss the history, the current scientific understanding and the natural beauty of the aurora that has had such a magnetic pull on observers throughout the ages. Come learn about a phenomenon that on rare occasions can occur in the night sky directly above Boulder. 7:30 p.m. in the LSTB building (rm 299), located at 1234 Innovation Dr. on the CU-Boulder east campus research park. Cultural heritage in China: Discourse and practices

Yujie Zhu, postdoctoral fellow at the Australian National University, will present the next CAS Luncheon Series event. China's ratification of the World Heritage Convention in 1985 expresses the country’s efforts to embrace globalization, build up its national identity, and pursue economic development through the revitalization of cultural traditions and the promotion of heritage tourism. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 12 p.m., CAS Conference Room, 1424 Broadway (two doors north of Starbucks on University and Broadway). Lunch will be provided.
