Cultural heritage in China: Discourse and practices

Yujie Zhu, postdoctoral fellow at the Australian National University, will present the next CAS Luncheon Series event. China's ratification of the World Heritage Convention in 1985 expresses the country’s efforts to embrace globalization, build up its national identity, and pursue economic development through the revitalization of cultural traditions and the promotion of heritage tourism. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 12 p.m., CAS Conference Room, 1424 Broadway (two doors north of Starbucks on University and Broadway). Lunch will be provided.
