Digital Media Boot Camp

Digital Media Boot Camp (DMBC) offers a focused introduction to digital media production designed to teach practical digital media and technological skills to people from any field. These all-day intensive classes are offered at the ATLAS center and will feature a small, hands-on and collaborative learning environment. Students will learn to use industry technologies, applications and creative tools to communicate and present their ideas. The class will be taught May 9-26. More info found here.

'Narrating Adventure Down the Colorado River'

On Thursday, Feb. 25, the History Graduate Student Association will welcome Marsha Weisiger of the University of Oregon to deliver a public lecture on the Colorado River and the people who have interacted with it. Dr. Weisiger is an environmental historian who has written on environmental policy, Native Americans, and rivers. The lecture will be held at 5 p.m. in Hellems 199. All are welcome.

Equity and Excellence Award Call for Nominations - Due March 22

The Equity and Excellence Award recognizes students, staff and faculty who have successfully and effectively worked to promote the principles of inclusive excellence in teaching and learning, higher education program management or leadership development. Second annual 'Hebrew Shmooze-A-Palooza'

Pluto--The Pugnacious Planet, Wednesday, March 2, 7:30 p.m.

Fran Bagenal, LASP planetary research scientist, will describe how the New Horizons visit to Pluto is challenging our understanding of ice worlds in the outer solar system. Pluto's many surprises include water ice mountains as big as the Rocky Mountains, glaciers of nitrogen ice, an ice volcano as big as Mauna Kea, and, most bizarre of all, a landscape that resembles the skin of a snake. LSTB building (room 299), located at 1234 Innovation Dr. in the CU-Boulder east campus research park. Doors open at 7 p.m.. Seating may be limited. Free

Media representations of Maoism in central India

CAS Luncheon Series. This talk will be presented by Ashmi Desai, PhD candidate in Communication. This research attempts to understand how the print media as well as identified stakeholders co-construct two incidents of Maoist violence in India. These questions are explored through an examination of themes and discursive practices employed in talk and text, arising from 30 interviews.
