IMPART grants - call for applications: Due April 15

IMPART Fellowships (up to $4,000) are available to CU-Boulder faculty. We seek proposals that improve the campus environment in the area of gender, ethnic, and cultural diversity that promote inclusive excellence. Paid study for active men who do not bicycle for exercise

The Applied Exercise Science Lab is seeking 18-35 year-old men who participate in ≥three sessions of aerobic exercise per week of >30min totally 2.5–5.0 hrs/wk. This may not include cycling (commuting is ok), but may include running, hiking, swimming, basketball, soccer, tennis, etc. More screening questions will be asked upon inquiry. The study will require 8 hrs: 4 visits, 2 hrs/visit. You will be compensated $50 for your participation. Assessment of VO2max, lactate threshold, efficiency/economy and training zones is included.

Sexpressions: Call for performers

Sexpressions is a talent showcase celebrating a positive expression of female sexuality. We are looking for all forms of expression: dance, art, spoken word, song, instrumental…be creative! If you are interested please contact Nadia Brecl and Diana Rodriguez with a brief description of what you would like to perform/contribute and your contact information. Deadline to sign up is Friday, April 8, at 5 p.m. Sexpressions will take place on Thursday, April 21, from 7 to 10 p.m. in the Glenn Miller Ballroom. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

For the Health of It: Destigmatizing Depression

Join us on March 14, from 4 to 5 p.m., in UMC 416 for a discussion with Dr. Tina Pittman Wagers exploring the complexities of mental health with a particular focus on depression. We will be covering the history of women's mental health, models of conceptualizing mental health disorders, and gender disparities in mental health. We will also discuss the different ways in which depression is stigmatized and how to combat this stigma to better support those in our lives who are coping with depression.

The Noble Prize in Literature Series at Boulder Book Store

The Russian Program at CU and Boulder Book Store present a new and exciting Nobel Lecture Series. Our first collaborative event will feature works by Svetlana Alexievich, the 2015 winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature. Please join us in Boulder Book Store on Monday, March 7 at 7:30 p.m. We hope to see many of you there.
