Pluto--The Pugnacious Planet, Wednesday, March 2, 7:30 p.m.

Fran Bagenal, LASP planetary research scientist, will describe how the New Horizons visit to Pluto is challenging our understanding of ice worlds in the outer solar system. Pluto's many surprises include water ice mountains as big as the Rocky Mountains, glaciers of nitrogen ice, an ice volcano as big as Mauna Kea, and, most bizarre of all, a landscape that resembles the skin of a snake.
