Calling all Students interested in volunteering while traveling!

Want something fun and meaningful to do this summer? Why not come travel with us to Chicago where we will be working with the local organization, Association House of Chicago. We will be in the Humboldt Park neighborhood offering programs and services to the local residents who are primarily Latino and African-American. Alternative Breaks is a great opportunity to experience new cultures and gain an understanding of social issues. Fall 2013 core course: GRMN/HUMN 1701-3. Nature and Environment in German Literature and Thought

This course critically examines titles in German literature and thought. Nature and environment are used to explore alienation, artistic inspiration, nihilism exploitation, sexuality, rural versus urban, meaning of the Earth, cultural renewal, identity and gender. This survey of German classics covers conceptions of nature such as idylls, artificial environments, human nature (generation, milieu), failed natures and monstrosities, wilderness etc. Taught in English. Approved for arts and sciences core curriculum: ideals and values.

Please join us April 12, from 12-1 p.m., in the Center for British and Irish Studies (Norlin Library’s 5th Floor). Doors open at 11:30 a.m. for a free, light lunch.

Paid psychology study

Are you interested in making some extra money while helping the study of psychology? We are looking for right handed individuals ages 18-30 to participate in a few studies. A Peruvian Inca in Emperor Shōwa's Court

Monday, April 8 at 11 a.m. CAS Conference Room, CAS (formerly IBS 3), 1424 Broadway, CU-Boulder In 1958, Japan undertook its first archaeological excavation outside Asia. In this talk, Assistant Professor Miriam Kingsberg of the History department explores the ways in which archaeologists and the media collaborated to transform the unlikely topic of pre-Columbian history into an enduring public obsession. Free and open to the public.

Interest Meeting For International Student Guides!

Find out how to apply to be an ISG! Come to the interest meeting on Friday, April 5, 3:30 p.m. in UMC Grill (next to the stage). Apply to be an International Student Guide and help new international students adjust to CU and play a critical role in creating a more welcoming campus environment. ISG’s will meet the new international students in person during Welcome Week and will be involved in activities with them in the early weeks of the semester. Applications are due April 8, 2013.
