Offered in Spring 2014: GRMN3501 Jewish/German Writers from the Enlightenment to the Present

Provides insight into the German-Jewish identity through essays, autobiographies, fiction and journalism from the Enlightenment to the post-Holocaust period. Examines the religious and social conflicts that typify the history of Jewish existence in German-speaking lands during the modern epoch. Taught in English. Same as JWST 3501. 15th Annual Thompson Awards for Western American Writing -- Win $500

Each year, the Center of the American West awards cash prizes to talented students writing on Western topics. All CU-Boulder degree students, undergraduate and graduate, are eligible. Categories are poetry, fiction, memoir, creative non-fiction and academic non-fiction. This year's entry deadline is March 14, and now is the perfect time to starting thinking about what you might want to submit. LASP December public lecture—Exploring Mars at LASP: From Mariner to MAVEN

The next LASP public lecture will feature LASP Senior Planetary Scientist, Ian Stewart, discussing the history of Mars exploration at CU-Boulder, from the Mariner missions of the late 60s to MAVEN, which is currently en route to explore the Red Planet's upper atmosphere.
