CU-Boulder Today schedule for 2013 Fall Break

The faculty-staff and student editions of CU-Boulder Today regularly publish three times per week. During breaks, we reduce our publishing schedule. For 2013 Fall Break, the faculty-staff edition will publish on Wednesday, and the student edition will publish on Tuesday.

Water resource governance - Conflict and cooperation across scales

Tanya Heikkila Associate Professor, School of Public Affairs, CU-Denver Friday, Nov. 22 at 3 p.m. CSTPR Conference Room, 1333 Grandview Ave. Dr. Heikkila will discuss her research on water resource governance. She will explore the methods, approaches and challenges to studying the complex institutions and human interactions that structure water conflicts and cooperation, drawing lessons from her work on interstate river basins in the western U.S., on the Florida Everglades, and the Mekong River basin.

Why do we tell stories? What is the essence of narrative? Of fiction? Does life have meaning? What are the limits of the imagination? What does it mean to be a person? Discover the grotesque, bizarre, surreal, absurd, supernatural and fantastic in Russian short stories and films. T – Th 12:30 - 1:45 p.m. Econ 13. Taught in English. RUSS 2221: Modern Russian Culture. The Soviet Union no longer exists, but modern Russian culture and society are inevitably connected to the experience of communism and revolution. This course will address major themes in Russian and Soviet culture, including the roles of the intellectual and the arts under a totalitarian regime. We will attempt to understand how past events affect social and cultural forces in Russia today. This course fills the core curriculum for Historical Context.
