2014-15 Puksta new scholar applications due Jan. 31

The Puksta Scholars, an exemplary undergraduate civic engagement program, is accepting applications for 2014-15 new scholars. Limited number of $4,500 annual scholarships. If you have a strong commitment to civic responsibility and want to bring about positive change in our communities, apply now. Family therapy for youth with mood problems

The Colorado Family Project, a group of clinicians and researchers at CU, is conducting a study of family-based therapy for youth with mood swings and a family history of bipolar disorder. Treatment focuses on helping youth and their families understand and cope with mood swings, develop plans for preventing moods from getting worse, communicate more effectively and solve family problems. Treatment is free of charge, and families are compensated for participation in regular research interviews.

Seeking CU's exceptional students

Students interested in applying for UK scholarships, including the Rhodes, Marshall, and Churchill, are invited to attend an information meeting on Friday, Dec. 6, at 4 p.m., Norlin S-421. These scholarships fund one to three years of graduate study in the UK at Oxford, Cambridge, and other universities. Students wishing to enter a UK university in 2015 must apply this spring to be considered for nomination. Minimum eligibility: 3.7 GPA, leadership, community service. More info on the website.

CAS brown bag: True multi-lingual citation management

Adam H. Lisbon, Japanese studies librarian, will give a presentation on the uses of Multi-Lingual Zotero. Zotero lets researchers provide transliterations and/or translations in addition to the original language data that many academic journals require as part of their submission guidelines. MLZ proposes to solve this issue for researchers who work in multiple languages. For students as well as professors, MLZ promises to make their research easier and more organized. This event will be on Friday, Dec. 6, at 12 p.m., in Guggenheim 201E.

Think summer: Summer 2015 courses now available on MyCUinfo

Summer Session courses are now available on MyCUInfo and on the Registrar's website for guest search. It is never too early to start planning for summer. Summer Session offers a wide range of courses throughout a series of terms. You can earn credit, keep up with major requirements, improve your GPA and still enjoy summer. The Summer Session catalog will be available in early January 2015 and enrollment begins March 4.
