Learn Swahili (non-credit) at ALTEC

Always wanted to learn Swahili? Looking to improve your language skills? ALTEC is offering Swahili 1 and 2 this semester. These classes are non-credit and are open to CU staff, faculty, graduate students, retirees and their spouses, as well as the Boulder community. Norlin Learner’s Lunch Workshop : Using Evernote to Manage Your Stuff

Sept. 24, noon, in Norlin E113 Evernote is a free system for browsers and mobile devices that bills itself as the tool to capture anything, access it anywhere and find it fast. Manage texts, sounds, images and handwriting for note-taking as well as qualitative research. 6th Annual Symposium on STEM Education Sept. 29

The Center for STEM Learning invites you to the 6th Annual Symposium on STEM Education Mon., Sept. 29, at the C4C, Abrams Lounge & Flatirons Rm: 3 - 5 p.m., STEM Education Showcase (Poster Session), 5:15 - 7 p.m., keynote addresses and awards ceremony. This year's event will highlight some of CU-Boulder and Colorado's groundbreaking education projects in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education and introduce a new generation of STEM education scholars. Exploring environmental education: Weekly discussion and training series

The CU Environmental Center is offering a 6-hour training program for CU students to learn the principles of place-based environmental education (EE). The 6-week series will meet once a week Oct. 6 - Nov. 10 on Mondays 12 - 1 p.m. For more information, come to the “Exploring Environmental Education Careers” workshop on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 5 - 6:30 p.m. in Koelbel 255. Do it yourself course videos: Screencasts

Have you ever wanted an easy way to create instructional videos for your classes -- to answer frequently asked questions, cover concepts that often requires more time than the allotted class session, or communicate with students in a different way? A popular method is called “screencasting." ASSETT is offering an introductory and advanced screen casting workshop. Eligible participants are A&S faculty of any rank, GPTIs and TAs. Participants will receive a complimentary license for screen casting software.
