Study abroad: Dante in Florence - summer 2016

Spend three weeks with CU-Boulder’s Suzanne Magnanini in Italy, exploring Florence’s historic streets. Learn about Dante, his Inferno, paintings and frescoes inspired by the poem. The course fulfills upper-division literature and the arts core and counts toward the Italian major and minor. You don't have to know Italian, and you could spend part of your summer studying in Italy. Stirring and burrowing after the asteroid impact

What happened to life on Earth after a six mile-wide asteroid landed near the Yucatan Peninsula approximately 66 million years ago? Professor Karen Chin will describe trace fossil evidence for some of the earliest animal activity after the second largest mass extinction in Earth history. Join us on Oct. 29, 7 to 9 p.m. at the CU Museum of Natural History for this free lecture. This lecture series is being held in conjunction with the Steps in Stone, Walking through Time exhibit, now showing at the CU Museum of Natural History.

Study international finance in London this summer. This seminar includes lectures from prominent financial professionals and field trips to sites such as Lloyd’s of London, Bloomberg and Paris. Global seminar information session for CU Faculty

Global seminars are summer courses where a faculty member takes a group of CU undergraduate students to study in an Asian country. Courses may focus on any topic related to the country they are based in. For the information session, we have invited past global seminar leaders to describe their experiences, and will also offer brief presentations by Study Abroad and CAS. Women's wellness study

Participants needed for a paid research study. Researchers in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at CU-Boulder are conducting a study seeking to understand the neuroscience of emotion and well-being. If you are a woman between 18 – 55, you may be eligible to participate. Earn up to $180. CWA Athenaeum presents: Jo Becker

The Conference on World Affairs at CU-Boulder is honored to welcome Jo Becker, an award-winning journalist for the New York Times, a critically acclaimed author, a Pulitzer Prize winner and a University of Colorado graduate. She published the book The Forcing of Spring: Inside the Fight for Marriage Equality in 2014, covering the fight to present the case of same-sex marriage before the Supreme Court.
