COPFFN Forum 2017: Preparing for change in higher education

The Collaborative Preparing Future Faculty Network (COPFFN) 2017 forum titled "The Classroom as Sanctuary: Preparing for Change in Higher Education" will be held on Saturday, March 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Hale 270. Faculty from several colleges and universities will discuss issues in college teaching at different types of institutions of higher ed. This is a free event. CUnity Day is March 2

The Engineering Graduate Student Advisory Board is hosting CUnity Day on March 2 to show support for international students and remind the community "we all belong here." CUnity Day participants are planning to wear #BeBoulderTogether t-shirts to fill the engineering halls with positive encouragement. Various engineering student organizations will be represented in the lobby, as well. The day will end with coffee and cookies at 3 p.m. Pick up your t-shirt at the engineering lobby between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., now through March 1.

Got a baby bump? Paid research study for first-time moms

Perinatal Emotion and Relationships Longitudinal Study (PEARLS) Researchers in CU’s Department of Psychology and Neuroscience are recruiting women who are currently pregnant with their first child to participate in a paid study of their experiences of pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period. Joanne Arnold Scholarship Available

The Joanne Arnold award is given to a faculty, staff, alumnus/a or community member who embodies the values of Joanne Arnold, who served as the inaugural chair of the Chancellor’s Committee and inspired many through charismatic leadership, tremendous courage and unflagging optimism. Applications are available online and are due by Friday, April 21, at 5 p.m. to the Gender and Sexuality Center, 105 UCB, Center for Community N450, Boulder, CO 80309 or by email to Scarlet Bowen.

Scholarship: $500 for Leaders in LGBTQ+ Communities

The University of Colorado Chancellor’s Standing Committee on Gender and Sexuality welcomes nominations for the 2017 Tito Torres Award. Student leaders and activists in LGBTQ+ communities are encouraged to apply to this scholarship. The award is $500. The deadline for submission is Friday, April 21, at 5 p.m. to the Gender and Sexuality Center, 105 UCB, Center for Community N450, Boulder, CO 80309 or by email to Scarlet Bowen. Earth Sciences & Map Library third annual photo contest

The Earth Sciences & Map Library is pleased to announce our third annual photo contest. Open to all undergraduate and graduate students, this photo contest is designed to highlight student photography depicting earth features and natural landscapes. CUnity Day March 2

The Engineering Graduate Student Advisory Board will host CUnity Day on Thursday, March 2, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Engineering Center Lobby. Students interesting in participating can stop by the Engineering Center Lobby Feb. 27-March 1, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., to pick up a free #BeBoulderTogether T-shirt and learn more about CUnity Day.

IMPART Fellowship grant applications due April 4

IMPART Fellowships are available to CU Boulder faculty. Submit your proposal by Tuesday, April 4. We seek proposals that improve the campus environment in the area of gender, ethnic and cultural diversity and promote inclusive excellence. Proposals that support faculty (especially assistant professors) initiating new research and scholarly programs, as well as expanding undergraduate curriculum in the areas of ethnic and gender diversity, are encouraged.

Alternative Breaks crowdfunding

Alternative Breaks sends teams of CU Boulder students to engage in community-based service projects during spring break, providing opportunities for immersion in diverse environments that enable students to experience, discuss and understand social issues in a significant way, ultimately, moving students toward action to make a positive impact. Better Boulder Day of Service

Join us for the annual Better Boulder Day of Service on April 29. Volunteer with over 350 other CU Boulder students, staff and faculty in a variety of projects that focus on different social and environmental issues across Boulder.
