Got a baby bump? Paid research study for first-time moms

Perinatal Emotion and Relationships Longitudinal Study (PEARLS) Researchers in CU’s Department of Psychology and Neuroscience are recruiting women who are currently pregnant with their first child to participate in a paid study of their experiences of pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period. Fulbright student grant information meeting

The Fulbright program is the U.S. government’s flagship program for international educational exchange, and CU Boulder has an excellent record of Fulbright student grants. Grants are for any student who will have at least a bachelor's degree by the time the grant starts and won’t yet have completed a PhD. Learn how to apply to do overseas study/research or to be an English teaching assistant overseas at the upcoming informational meetings in NRLN S421. Catherine Larkins retirement party

Please join the Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research (INSTAAR) at a retirement party for Catherine Larkins on Monday, Feb. 27, from 2 to 4 p.m. in room S228 of the Sustainability and Environment Complex (SEEC). Larkins began her CU career in 2000. Currently the CFO for INSTAAR, she has had roles in the Associate Vice President for HR in System Administration, UCB Applied Mathematics, UCB Journalism and Mass Communication and the AMC Center for Native Oral Health Research at UCD. Peace Corps storytelling night

Peace Corps Day is right around the corner! Join us for a fun night of storytelling from returned volunteers and travelers. Learn about challenging, rewarding and inspirational moments from being abroad. All stories are welcome as long as they have an international theme. Want to share? Student writing contest with $500 prizes, due March 21

Are you a CU Boulder student (undergraduate or graduate) working on a research paper, journalistic piece, essay, poem, or short story that touches on a topic related to the American West? Are you writing about public lands, Native American issues, immigration, water or wildfire? Center of the American West is seeking entries for the 18th annual Thompson Awards for Western American Writing. Seven winners will each receive $500. The entry deadline is March 21. Property Services live auction of surplus property and equipment

University of Colorado Boulder Property Services will hold a public auction of surplus property and equipment on Saturday, March 11. Items will be available for preview beginning at 8 a.m., and the auction will begin at 9 a.m. Auctions are held on CU Boulder's East Campus at the Distribution Center located at 3300 Walnut Street.

Breathing life into the score: A performance lecture with Professor Korevaar

David Korevaar, Helen and Peter Weil Professor of Piano, College of Music, will deliver a unique Distinguished Research Lecture on Feb. 24, from 4 to 5:45 p.m. with a reception to follow at Grusin Music Hall. Korevaar, one of two recipients of the 2016 Distinguished Research Lectureship, presents “The score is alive...with the sound of music,” a lecture performance that focuses on the process of translating notes on the page into music that comes alive. This event is free. Registration is requested.

Ethics and Compliance Brown Bag: Graduate student accommodations

February's monthly session is Monday, Feb. 27, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Rec Center Ice Rink Overlook Meeting Room. It will feature staff from Disability Services focusing on the subject of graduate student accommodations. Faculty and staff often have questions on how to address student needs in the classroom; the team will share insights on how Disability Services can be a invaluable partner in this process.
