Brownbag: International Travel Tips - Nov. 12 at 12 pm

Join us to learn some tips about travelling internationally (for work or pleasure). What travel documents do you need? How can you best deal with other currencies? How can you quickly learn about cultural differences that you might encounter? What safety and security issues should you consider? We’ll talk about these questions and more. Please feel free to bring your lunch. We'll meet 12-1 pm on Monday, Nov 12 (part of International Education Week: http://www.colorado.edu/oie/), in Center for Community room S350.

WANTED: Healthy adolescents and young adults 19-21 years of age For research study at CU-Boulder Earn $25 for participation in a two-hour study The Adolescent Development and Preventive Treatment (ADAPT) research program is looking for individuals to participate in a study of mental health and adolescent development. “Death in the Clouds: Bioarchaeology in the Northern Highlands of Peru”

Archaeologist Dr. Catherine Gaither will be presenting the results of the bioarchaeological analysis of human skeletal remains recovered from Northern Peru and the insight they offer into the general health problems faced by the populations inhabiting this area through time. This talk will be held on Friday, Nov. 9, 4 pm in the Hale Science Building room 230 and will be followed by a reception.

Effects of Sequestration at CU and in the Scientific Community

Across-the-board federal spending cuts poised to take place this January, commonly referred to as sequestration or the fiscal cliff, pose an immediate risk to our nation's leadership in scientific progress, education, and defense, as well as to job creation and infrastructure development. On Thursday, Nov. 8 at 4pm in JILA X317, FOSEP is hosting panelists Monisha Merchant (Senator Bennet's office), Ben Webster (CU), and Scott Rayder (UCAR) to discuss the effect this could have at CU and in the scientific community.
