You will learn historical and political background about the peace process and obstacles to peace. Water, Conflict and Coexistence in Israel/Palestine

Friday, Nov. 9, UMC Rooms 382-386, 6:30 pm | In this free public presentation, Barbara Petzen of Middle East Connections will discuss the conflict over water resources and their control and allocation amongst Israel and Palestine and their neighbors. We will examine political, humanitarian, and environmental aspects of these questions, with special attention to the Jordan River valley and the Dead Sea, the status of the region's aquifers, and the rise of large-scale, export-oriented agriculture.

Interested in youth empowerment and education reform? If yes, contact verveer@colorado.edu to register for INVS/EDUC 2919: Renewing Democracy in Communities and Schools. A practicum course, INVS/EDUC 2919 invites undergraduates to work alongside K-12 students as they identify and address salient community issues. The course, which has been approved for the Education Minor and the AmeriCorps scholarship program, meets on Mondays at either 4-5:30 pm or 6-7:30 pm and once weekly at a local elementary or high school.
